Well it’s Friday…but it’s going to be a long Friday! I had to get to work just after 5 so no time for breakfast in the morning. I took a break at around 7 to grab some eggs, bacon and tomatoes with a hot tea because I was hungry!
Lunch today was leftover better butter chicken over organic greens and other lettuce. Then – I had 2 paleo cookies after to satiate my sweet tooth.
Tonight we went out to dinner for my mother-in-laws birthday. It was not a cheat meal and luckily they picked Texas Road House for the meal. I was able to get a 12 oz NY Strip with a garden salad (- cheese, – croutons) with lemon for the dressing and steamed carrots and broccoli for my sides. All on all it was a great meal.
Between going to work early and having the dinner to get to at night there was no time for crossfit. I will need to work some form of workout in this weekend…maybe another hike?
Today is a cheat meal day and it is beautiful out so we must take advantage of that. The day started with breakfast – 2 eggs scrambled with sundried tomatoes and pesto. Wonderful.
Then, we got ready and headed out for a great hike. We did the 7-falls loop at sabino canyon, with a lil extra thrown in because I got us lost on the way up. So – after 4ish hours, a little over 9 miles and over 1000 calories burned we were back. As far as the hike we brought along plenty of water, a bottle of coconut water, almonds, cashews, pepitas and figs. They made a great snack and provided plenty of fuel for the road.
After getting home and getting ready for dinner we had a nice snack of organic salami, prosciutto, raw organic cheese (which some may or may not consider paleo) and some red wine.
Dinner was at Olive Garden, not the most paleo place, but hey it was a cheat meal. The meal started with a lil wine tasting and I ended up liking the cab so much I got a glass. My meal was off the lighter food menu. It was a small lasagna stuffed with tons of veggies and grilled chicken. I had that with the salad and one breadstick. So – not awful, but def not paleo. Now – back on the meal plan!
Well happy Friday! Not sore from the past two days of WoDs so maybe I haven’t been pushing myself enough. Must push harder next week.
Breakfast today was 2 scrambled eggs with pesto over a thin slice of the flax bread…it was okay. Then I had my last homemade larabar around 830. I will have to make more.
Lunch today was a leftover stuffed bell pepper with some soda water. Dinner today was eaten out. We went to a nice pizza place downtown (Magpies) and I was definitely temped…but today is not cheat day (that will come tomorrow) so I had a spinach salad with sundried tomatoes, red bell pepper, bacon and chicken. We also got some baked chicken wings without any sauce. After that we went to the bar. Great tip – soda water with lemon and lime is great with or without vodka. And even if you choose no vodka you can still look like you are fitting in.
At 2am everyone got a hunger streak and we ended up at IHOP. Again, I stuck strong and got 2 eggs over medium, 2 slices of bacon and a bowl of fruit.
Looking forward to tomorrow when we are planning on going on a nice hike and maybe a cheat meal as a reward 🙂
